STUDENTS’ NELFUND PORTAL RECORD UPDATE

Students are beginning to notice that their NELFUND portal is changing from the 2025/2026 Academic Session to 2026/2027.

This is happening as institutions begin updating/uploading their students’ academic information for the new session through the NELFUND Student Verification System (SVS). NELFUND’s verification system allows institutions to manage their academic sessions and upload or update student records.

This also explains why some students are already seeing 2026/2027 on their portals while others are still seeing 2025/2026. The update may not reflect for everyone at the same time because institutions have to update and submit the relevant student information on the NELFUND Verification System.

So, if your portal is already showing 2026/2027, there is no need to panic. If yours is still showing 2025/2026, please remain calm and give your institution time to complete the necessary uploading/updating of your student data on the NELFUND Verification System.

Also, the appearance of 2026/2027 on the portal should not automatically be taken as confirmation that the 2026/2027 NELFUND application has officially opened. Students should wait for NELFUND’s official announcement before treating the new application cycle as open.

Please DO NOT create another account, submit unnecessary applications or make changes simply because you have noticed the session change.
